Sulphur, Louisiana - Spicy Rico Mexican Grill, an upcoming regional Mexican restaurant with a contemporary twist, is expanding into Sulphur, Louisiana. The restaurant will be located at 504 N Beglis Parkway, near the intersection of East Burton Street and North Beglis Parkway, bringing its signature big flavors and fresh ingredients to the area.

Expanding the Culinary Scene in Sulphur

Sulphur’s dining options continue to grow, with Spicy Rico set to join a competitive landscape that includes established restaurants like La Rumba and El Viejo Tony Bar and Grill, though Spicy Rico Mexican Grill is a slightly different type of restaurant. While no official opening date has been announced for the Sulphur location, Spicy Rico’s social media channels hint at a launch soon, inviting locals to experience their build-your-own burritos, bowls, tacos, and more.

Menu Highlights and Customization

Spicy Rico stands out by offering a menu built on customization and fresh ingredients. Diners can create their own burritos, bowls, nachos, salads, quesadillas, or tacos, choosing from proteins such as steak, chicken, carnitas, barbacoa, ground beef, chorizo, shrimp, veggies, tofu, and Mexican brisket. Toppings include a wide array of salsas, cheeses, beans, rice, pico de gallo, and fresh vegetables.

Extras like guacamole, cheese dip, avocado, and extra meat are available for an additional charge. Appetizers feature guacamole, queso dip, and salsa, while desserts include classics such as flan, cheesecake, and tres leches cake. Beverage options range from soft drinks to Mexican sodas and aguas frescas, offering refreshment for every palate.

Regional Growth and Community Focus

Spicy Rico is no stranger to Louisiana, with locations in DeRidder and Baton Rouge, as well as in Beaumont and Port Arthur, Texas. At each site, the grill is known for generous portions and authentic Mexican-inspired dishes made with premium meats and handcrafted salsas. Typical hours for other sites are 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., though the Sulphur location’s specific hours have not been confirmed yet.

Meeting the Demand for Modern Mexican Cuisine

As the population in Sulphur and the surrounding Calcasieu Parish continues to grow, so does the appetite for new dining experiences. Spicy Rico aims to meet this demand by offering a blend of traditional Mexican flavors with a modern, customizable approach—catering to both vegetarians and meat lovers.

What Sets Spicy Rico Apart

While Sulphur hosts several notable Mexican dining options, Spicy Rico differentiates itself with its build-your-own concept, wide variety of protein choices, and commitment to freshness. This approach appeals to those looking for quick service without sacrificing quality or flavor.

Looking Ahead

Although an exact opening date is yet to be announced, anticipation is building among local residents. The new Spicy Rico Mexican Grill is expected to become a go-to spot for families, professionals, and students seeking a fast, flavorful, and fresh meal.
