Wind Advisory Issued for Southwest Louisiana Through Thursday

Lake Charles, Louisiana – The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued another Wind Advisory for Southwest Louisiana, including all of Calcasieu Parish, as strong southerly winds are expected to persist through Thursday, April 3, 2025.

The current advisory is currently in effect through 10 PM Wednesday evening and will be reissued from 7 AM to 7 PM on Thursday. Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching 35 to 45 mph, are expected across the region, making for hazardous conditions.

  • Difficult travel conditions are expected, especially for high-profile vehicles on bridges and highways.
