Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana - Calcasieu Parish officials announced a leadership transition at their October 17 Regular Meeting, appointing long-time public servant Dane R. Bolin as the new Parish Administrator. Bolin, who has served the parish for over three decades, stepped into the role on April 1, 2025, following the retirement of Bryan Beam.

The unanimous vote by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury marks a significant administrative change for the parish government. Bolin becomes just the fourth person to hold this position in parish history.

"I am deeply honored and humbled to accept the position of Parish Administrator," Bolin said following his appointment. "This role carries tremendous responsibility, and I am truly grateful for the trust and confidence this elected body has placed in me."

Bolin's career with Calcasieu Parish began in 1991 in the Office of Juvenile Justice Services (OJJS), where he eventually rose to become director from 2007 to 2010. For the past 14 years, he has served as Assistant Parish Administrator, working directly under his predecessor.

Police Jury President Anthony Bartie expressed confidence in the selection, citing Bolin's proven track record within parish government.

"Dane Bolin has proven himself over many years at the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury. His integrity, leadership, and decisiveness have been evident throughout his career," Bartie said. "We are fortunate to have a leader with his depth of experience to step into this role."

The Parish Administrator position involves overseeing day-to-day operations of parish government, implementing Police Jury policies, and coordinating various departments that serve parish residents.

Outgoing Administrator Bryan Beam, who has worked closely with Bolin, offered strong endorsement of his successor.

"Dane is a strong leader who is highly qualified for the position of Parish Administrator," Beam stated. "He is experienced, smart, savvy, and attuned to the needs of the citizens of Calcasieu Parish."

Bolin follows in the footsteps of just three previous administrators: Rodney Vincent (1972-1988), Mark McMurry (1988-2010), and Bryan Beam (2010-2024). Each has shaped the administrative structure of parish government during their respective tenures.

The appointment represents continuity in parish leadership while beginning a new chapter in Calcasieu Parish governance.
