Lake Charles, Louisiana - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced a scheduled lane closure on LA 385 (Ryan Street) Southbound in Lake Charles for utility work. The maintenance operation will take place on Friday, April 4, 2025, affecting the right lane of the southbound corridor between West 18th Street and 18th Street.

The partial closure is set to conclude by 6:00 AM the same day, potentially minimizing disruption to morning commute patterns. Officials have confirmed this is a planned utility maintenance project rather than emergency repairs.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution when traveling through the work zone and to consider alternative routes during the closure period.

The DOTD recommends that motorists plan additional travel time if their route includes this segment of LA 385, particularly during the early morning hours of April 4. Standard work zone speed reductions will be in effect, and drivers should be alert for crew members and equipment in the area.

This utility work is part of ongoing infrastructure maintenance throughout the Lake Charles region.
