Fluker, Louisiana – In the early hours of March 16, 2025, a tragic single-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 resulted in the death of the driver. Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to the incident near LA Highway 10 around 2:00 a.m. The identity of the deceased is currently being withheld pending proper identification and notification of the next of kin.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a 2025 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Interstate 55 when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered off the roadway. The Honda struck an embankment before colliding head-on with a tree. Following the impact, the vehicle became engulfed in flames.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but unfortunately, the driver was pronounced deceased at the site of the crash. As part of the ongoing investigation, officials collected a routine toxicology sample for analysis to determine if any substances may have contributed to the incident.
