Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced important roadway repairs that will necessitate the closure of the left lanes along US 171 Northbound. This closure will take place from Interstate 10 to north of Moeling Street on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The closure is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the road infrastructure in the area. Roadway repairs can include various activities such as patching potholes, fixing cracks, or resurfacing sections of the pavement to ensure safe driving conditions. The department urges motorists to plan their routes accordingly, as delays may occur during the closure hours.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes or expect potential slowdowns while traveling through the affected area. Safety is a priority, and the department encourages drivers to remain cautious and alert, particularly in construction zones.

This closure is just one of many initiatives aimed at enhancing road safety and reliability for drivers in the Lake Charles region.
