Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana - Applications are currently being accepted for the 2025-2026 Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Grant, a funding opportunity designed to support arts and humanities initiatives in the region. This grant, which is funded annually by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury (CPPJ) and administered by the Arts Council of Southwest Louisiana (SWLA), provides financial assistance ranging from $500 to $5,000 for specific projects.

Eligible projects can occur on either single or recurring dates, and must take place within Calcasieu Parish. The funds are intended to help local and regional arts organizations manage operational and project expenses, thereby promoting cultural enrichment and enhancing the quality of life within the community. Additionally, these grants aim to bolster tourism by bringing the arts to the forefront in Southwest Louisiana.

Interested applicants can download the application form from the Arts Council's website at www.artscouncilswla.org. The deadline to submit applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, March 17. Following the submission period, a grant review panel will evaluate the applications in late March and make recommendations regarding funding levels to the Arts Council Board of Directors. It is important to note that funding decisions are not determined by the CPPJ.

For further information on the grant, including eligibility criteria and application procedures, individuals can visit the Arts Council's website or contact them by phone at 337-439-2787.
