Ward Six Fire Protection and Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Respond to DeQuincy Motorcycle Crash

DeQuincy, Louisiana - On Friday afternoon at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Ward Six Fire Protection District No. One received a report of a motorcycle crash on Rigmaiden Cemetery Road in DeQuincy. Responding swiftly, Unit 901, Engine 19, and Service 8, comprising a total of seven firefighters, arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

Upon reaching the location, firefighters discovered a motorcycle off the roadway, and the operator was found injured in a nearby ditch. The severity of the operator's injuries necessitated immediate medical attention. Acadian Ambulance was dispatched to the scene and promptly arrived to provide care. Firefighters assisted the ambulance crew in stabilizing the injured motorcyclist before transporting them to a local hospital for further treatment.

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office was also present at the scene and is currently conducting an investigation into the crash.

Motorcycle crashes can often result in serious injuries due to the lack of protection riders have compared to those in enclosed vehicles.
