Jefferson Davis Parish - Louisiana law enforcement officials have successfully recovered five all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) stolen from a Texas powersports dealer, leading to the arrest of a suspect from Iota, Louisiana. The investigation began when the Clay County Sheriff's Office responded to a theft at HE Powersports in Henrietta, Texas, on December 12, 2024.

The stolen vehicles, valued at over $150,000, were taken during an overnight heist. Through investigative work, Texas authorities identified a potential suspect in Louisiana and reached out to the Louisiana State Police for assistance.

Within two days, detectives from the Louisiana State Police Region 2 Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) located 31-year-old Jamarcus Dwayne Williams. During their investigation, authorities not only recovered all five stolen ATVs but also discovered a stolen 40-foot flatbed trailer, valued at approximately $30,000, which investigators believe was used to transport the stolen vehicles.

Williams faces five counts of illegal possession of stolen things under Louisiana statute RS 14:69. He was booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish Correctional Center and will face additional charges in Clay County, Texas, where the theft originated.

The successful recovery highlights the effectiveness of inter-state law enforcement cooperation in solving property crimes that cross jurisdictional boundaries.
