West Monroe, Louisiana - A fatal single-vehicle crash occurred on Saturday, November 30, 2024, on Louisiana Highway 143 near New Wall Lake Road, resulting in the death of 71-year-old Johnnie Lott Jr. of Carthage, Texas.

According to the Louisiana State Police Troop F, the incident happened shortly before 3:00 p.m. when a 2015 Toyota Avalon, driven by Lott, was traveling north on Louisiana Highway 143. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and overturned.

According to Louisiana State Police, Lott, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities do not suspect impairment as a contributing factor in the crash, but routine toxicology samples were collected and will be submitted for analysis. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
