Acadia Parish, Louisiana - A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred on November 19, 2024, on US Highway 90 near Ebenezer Road, claiming the life of 59-year-old Gilbert Price, Jr. of Rayne, Louisiana. The incident happened shortly after 10:00 a.m. when Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 2002 Ford Escape, driven by Billy Kritzer of Youngsville, was traveling east on US Highway 90. At the same time, Price was driving a 2000 GMC Sonoma in the opposite direction. For reasons still under investigation, the Ford Escape crossed the centerline into the westbound lane and struck the GMC Sonoma head-on.

Kritzer, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. According to Louisiana State Police, Price, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Standard toxicology samples were collected from both drivers and submitted for analysis to determine if any substances may have contributed to the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Louisiana State Police.
