Lake Charles, Louisiana - A 27-year-old motorcyclist from Lake Charles lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 3059 near Luke Powers Road on November 17, 2024. Brandon Clark of Lake Charles, Louisiana was pronounced deceased at the scene after his motorcycle overturned and ejected him.

According to the preliminary investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop D, Clark was riding a 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on LA Hwy 3059 when the incident occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m. The motorcycle traveled off the roadway to the right for reasons still under investigation and overturned, causing Clark to be ejected.

Clark was wearing a Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved helmet at the time of the crash, but he sustained fatal injuries. Standard toxicology samples were collected from Clark and submitted for analysis to determine if any factors contributed to the incident.

The Louisiana State Police Troop D is continuing to investigate the crash to determine the cause.
