Lake Charles and SWLA Events: What’s Happening in Southwest Louisiana This Weekend, November 15-17

Lake Charles, Louisiana - This weekend, the city of Lake Charles and surrounding areas in Southwest Louisiana will be bustling with events and activities for all ages. From live music performances to art exhibits, farmers' markets, and family-friendly programs, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

On Friday, November 15, Crying Eagle Brewing will host two events: "The Boot Networking Social" from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, followed by live music by Clay & Markie from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Meanwhile, Paul Piazza will perform at Tia Juanita's Fish Camp from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

The Lake Charles Public Library will also be hosting various programs for adults, teens, and children throughout the weekend. These events include author talks, book clubs, and craft sessions. The library's programs are designed to promote literacy, education, and community engagement.

On Saturday, November 16, Hilcrest Park will host "Art in the Park" from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, with art supplies and easels provided by the City of Lake Charles through its Partners in Parks Initiative. Lapin Lagniappe will host "Junque in the Trunk" from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, a unique shopping experience where customers can browse through a variety of vendors selling everything from antiques to handmade crafts.

The Kreole Rock & Soul Coffee Co. Launch Party will take place at Coffee:30 Express from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, offering free samples and discounts to customers. The Lake Area Adventures Fall Festival will be held at Lake Area Adventures and The Terrace from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, featuring live music, food vendors, and family-friendly activities.

In the evening, Crying Eagle Brewing will host live music by Shinoak from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

On Sunday, November 17, Crying Eagle Brewing will host live music by James Bertrand from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Panorama Music House will host "Pajama Jam Open Mic" from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

The city's museums and galleries will also be open throughout the weekend, featuring various exhibits, including "Women Who Served" presented by the Mayor's Armed Forces Commission at the 1911 Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center, and "Banks of the Sabie featuring Ryan Courville" at the Gallery by the Lake.

Overall, this weekend promises to be an exciting and entertaining time for residents and visitors of Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana. With a wide range of events and activities to choose from, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
