Louisiana State Police Investigate Deadly Crash in Tangipahoa Parish

Amite, Louisiana - A single-vehicle crash on LA Hwy 16 near Pine Meadow Road in Tangipahoa Parish resulted in the loss of life of a 61-year-old driver, according to the Louisiana State Police. Troop L responded to the incident at approximately 5:40 a.m. on November 5, 2024.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 1998 Toyota Tundra, driven by Corey Denney of Kentwood, Louisiana was traveling eastbound on LA Hwy 16. For reasons that are still under investigation, the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Denney, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A routine toxicology sample was obtained from Denney as part of the ongoing investigation.
