Baton Rouge, Louisiana - A recent traffic stop in Baton Rouge, Louisiana has resulted in the arrest of a driver and the seizure of a significant amount of cocaine and prescription medications. According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Special Investigation Officers initiated the traffic stop on October 13, 2024, after observing a black Toyota Corolla committing a traffic violation.
During the course of the stop, officers conducted a search of the vehicle, which led to the discovery of approximately 6 kilograms (13.2 pounds) of cocaine. In addition to the cocaine, officers also found 24 bottles of Promethazine, a prescription medication used to treat allergies, and 2 bottles of Promethazine with Codeine, a medication used to treat coughs and congestion.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Patrick Dallas, was arrested and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Dallas has been charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute (PWID) Schedule II (Cocaine), PWID Schedule III (Promethazine with Codeine), and Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription.
