Louisiana-North Carolina - In a display of inter-state cooperation, the Louisiana State Police has deployed 20 troopers to North Carolina to assist with relief efforts following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene. The troopers, all assigned to the Mobile Field Force, were briefed by Colonel Hodges before embarking on a 10-day deployment to Conover, North Carolina.

The Mobile Field Force is a specialized unit within the Louisiana State Police that is trained to respond to large-scale events, such as natural disasters. The unit is equipped to handle a variety of tasks, including traffic management, crowd control, and search and rescue operations.

Louisiana has itself been the recipient of aid from other states during significant weather events, and this deployment is an opportunity for the state to return the favor.

During their 10-day deployment, the troopers will work closely with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders to support relief efforts in the affected areas. Their specific duties will depend on the needs of the local authorities, but they are trained to adapt to a variety of situations.
