Lake Charles, Louisiana - The City of Lake Charles is set to return to normalcy as administrative offices and services, including City Hall, will resume operations with regular business hours starting Thursday, September 12, 2024. The offices and services were closed due to the threat of Hurricane Francine impacting Southwest Louisiana. This announcement was made by City Administrator John Cardone, who confirmed that all city facilities, including Historic City Hall, Central School, the Lake Charles Event Center, Mallard Golf Club, and City of Lake Charles Recreation Centers, will reopen their doors to the public.

In addition to the reopening of city facilities, transit operations will also resume with all routes running on their normal schedules. This means that residents can expect buses to operate according to their usual timetables.

Furthermore, Solid Waste crews will restart trash and garbage collection, with all routes operating on their normal collection schedules. The Nelson Road/Alma Lane, Team Green Recycling Truck, and Solid Waste Incinerator will also resume regular operations, ensuring that waste management services are back to normal.
