Lake Charles, Louisiana - Residents in downtown Lake Charles on portions of Bilbo, Division, and Pujo Streets are advised of a temporary water service interruption from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2024. The interruption is necessary to replace a 12-inch main line control valve. Affected customers will receive notifications through door-to-door visits and door hangers.

Following the restoration of water service, a temporary precautionary BOIL WATER ADVISORY will be in place for the mentioned streets. This advisory, in compliance with Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) regulations, is expected to last around 24 hours.

During the boil water advisory, it is recommended that residents disinfect their water before consuming it. This includes activities such as making ice, brushing teeth, food preparation, and rinsing foods. To disinfect water, bring it to a rolling boil in a clean container and boil for one full minute. Showering and bathing are not affected by the advisory.
