Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced the opening of J-Turns at the intersection of US 165 and LA 101, designed to enhance traffic flow and safety in the area.

Motorists using LA 101 at US 165 are now required to make right turns only onto US 165, followed by a U-turn at designated median openings further down the road. This strategic maneuver enables vehicles to access the opposite direction of US 165, providing options to continue on US 165 or turn right onto LA 101.

The implementation of J-Turns aims to efficiently manage traffic at the intersection, ensuring smoother transitions and reducing the likelihood of crashes.

In addition to the new J-Turns, ongoing improvement work is being carried out on US 165, stretching from the Allen Parish line to a point 0.85 miles north of Interstate 10.
