Gunfire Exchange in Shreveport: U.S. Marshals Task Force Operation Turns Deadly, Deputy Injured

Shreveport, Louisiana - In the afternoon of Wednesday, February 7, 2024, a group of local law enforcement officers, who were assisting the U.S. Marshals Task Force, made an effort to apprehend a wanted individual. The individual was located at the Foxborough Cove Apartments on Pines Road in Shreveport, Louisiana. A confrontation took place where the individual brandished a gun, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Unfortunately, the individual was hit by the bullets and was declared dead at the scene.

A deputy from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office was struck in the upper body during a shootout. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The deputy's injuries were not life-threatening. After receiving medical care, he was discharged and deemed to be in stable condition.

The authorities have asked the Louisiana State Police (LSP) to investigate the shooting incident involving an officer. The LSP investigators are currently working to examine the crime scene and collect more details.
