Louisiana Fatal Go Kart Collision on LA Hwy 1065 Claims Life of Tickfaw Man

Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana - Louisiana State Police Troop L started investigating a fatal crash on LA Hwy 1065 near Goudeaux Road in Tangipahoa Parish on the evening of December 2, just after 6:00 p.m. The crash resulted in the death of Paul Dykes, aged 40, from Tickfaw, Louisiana.

According to the initial investigation, Dykes was traveling southbound on LA Hwy 1065 on a Go Kart without lights when a 2013 Toyota Tacoma also heading southbound struck the rear of the Go Kart. Dykes suffered severe injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where he later passed away. The driver of the Toyota was unharmed and wearing a seatbelt.

Toxicology samples were taken from both drivers for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation.
