Louisiana Pharmacist Charged with 229 Counts of Insurance Fraud Over 5 Years

Ruston, Louisiana - The Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud Auto Theft Unit (LSP IFAT) received a complaint from the Louisiana Department of Insurance on Thursday, October 05, 2023, regarding a suspected fraudulent insurance claim.

Following an investigation into the matter, it was discovered that a pharmacist named Joshua Miller of Ruston, Louisiana had fraudulently billed prescriptions between November 2017 and March 2022. Subsequently, LSP IFAT obtained an arrest warrant for Miller from the Lincoln Parish 3rd Judicial District Court.

On November 16, 2023, Miller was peacefully taken into custody and booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on charges related to prohibited activities and sanctions (229 counts).
