Suspect Arrested in Calcasieu Parish After Allegedly Making Threatening Statements at Sulphur High

On the afternoon of September 25th, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office was informed of a potential threat at Sulphur High School's 9th-grade campus. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a man, identified as Gerald W. Vincent, 53, or Sulphur had allegedly made threatening statements while walking on a road adjacent to the campus.

Students reported overhearing Vincent's remarks to school personnel.

Vincent was located and taken into custody, where he was interviewed by detectives before being arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

He is facing charges of terrorizing and menacing, with a bond set at $10,000 by Judge Ron Ware. The arresting deputy on the case was CPSO Sr. Cpl. Courtney Bertin, while CPSO Detective Roger Pete served as the lead investigator.

The Calcasieu Parish School Board provided assistance to the CPSO throughout the course of the investigation.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
