Sulphur, Louisiana – The City of Sulphur announced on May 15, 2023, that water pressure had dropped below acceptable levels due to a water main rupture. Due to the low water pressure, the City of Sulphur has issued a citywide Precautionary Boil Advisory.

If you have been without water for an extended period of time, run faucets until the water flows clear, then take precautions and boil the water before consumption.

In a clean container, bring water to a boil for one minute. The one-minute timer begins as the water reaches a full boil. (The flat taste can be removed by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of heated water).

After clear samples have been received from the State Laboratory, the City of Sulphur will notify the impacted areas.
