Louisiana Man Arrested for Theft and Other Crimes After Items Stolen from Ex-Employer Spotted in His Yard

Caddo Parish, Louisiana – A Louisiana man has been arrested for theft and other crimes after items stolen from his ex-employer were spotted in his yard.

According to Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator, deputies arrested a Keithville, Louisiana man following a theft investigation. On February 24, a business owner in the 8300 block of West Antoine Loop reported metal theft from his premises. The theft occurred shortly after midnight on the same day, according to video evidence.

The company owner stated an ex-employee, Chad DeLoach, 40, of Keithville, Louisiana, had the items in his yard in the 6800 block of Jeremiah Court around 11:45 a.m. on February 25. Deputies from the Sheriff’s patrol division came to investigate and later secured a search warrant for the property. Deputies discovered DeLoach hiding in the bathroom of a camper on the property at the start of the search, and he was apprehended. Deputies discovered stolen metal, copper wire spools, a stolen license plate, a firearm, and 2.5 grams of methamphetamine.

DeLoach’s criminal record indicated that he could not lawfully own guns.

Corporal Jermaine Kelly booked DeLoach into the Caddo Correctional Center and charged him with simple burglary, theft, illegal possession of stolen things, possession of schedule II, felon in possession of a firearm, and illegal carrying of weapons while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
