Authorities in Louisiana Asking for Help Locating Suspect Wanted for Violent Attack with Machete
Authorities in Louisiana are asking for help locating a suspect wanted for a violent attack with a machete.
Shreveport, Louisiana – According to the Shreveport Police Department, officers were called to a stabbing in the 200 block of East Wyandotte Street on February 15, 2023. The Shreveport Fire Department was bringing the person to the hospital with life-threatening injuries as cops arrived on the scene.
According to a witness on the scene, the suspect arrived at the home and assaulted the victim with a machete, striking them many times in the neck and head.
Detectives from the Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit were dispatched to the scene, and an investigation was launched. Investigators were able to identify the suspect as Aurelio Mendez with the help of the Shreveport Police Crime Scene Unit.
The Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit acquired a warrant for Aurelio Mendez, 41, on one count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.

Authorities indicated that the victim will most likely recover.
