Unrestrained Louisiana Teen Killed and Another Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash on LA 151

Louisiana - On Saturday, November 19, 2022, soon after 11:00 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop F responded to a one-vehicle crash on LA Hwy 151 north of Clark Springs Road. Landon Garsee, 17, of Eros, Louisiana, was killed in the crash.

The early inquiry found that Garsee was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger south on LA Hwy 151. The Ford exited the route and struck a guardrail, causing it to flip for unknown reasons.

Garsee, who was unrestrained, suffered severe injuries and died at the scene, according to the Ouachita Parish Coroner's Office. In the incident, another unrestrained adolescent passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

A toxicological sample was collected and submitted for testing. This crash is still being investigated.

Although the specific cause of these crashes is still being investigated, Troopers would like to remind the public that distracted and inattentive driving is dangerous and a primary cause of crashes in our state. To stay alert, motorists must pay attention to what is going on outside of the car they are driving and get plenty of rest.
