Charges Dismissed Against Louisiana Healthcare Worker Arrested in October 2022 Accused of Raping a Victim During an Office Visit
On January 13, 2023, the Calcasieu District Attorney’s Office announced that charges against nurse practitioner Brennan Bergeron have been dismissed.
Bergeron was arrested in October of 2022, and accused of raping a victim during an office visit.

Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office revealed on October 20, 2022, that on October 13, investigators received a complaint of a Nurse Practitioner named Brennan C. Bergeron, 29, of Iowa, Louisiana, allegedly raping a victim during an office visit at a local health care facility.
During the inquiry, investigators secured and executed search warrants and reportedly discovered evidence that supported the victim’s statements. After additional investigation, detectives filed a warrant for Bergeron’s arrest on October 18, which was signed by Judge Tony Fazzio. The next day, he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, where he was charged with third-degree rape. Later that day, he was released on a $650,000 bond.
Detective Kimberly Curran of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is the case’s principal investigator.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
