Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office to Host Jr. Deputy Academy Beginning in October

Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on September 21, 2022, that it will host its Jr. Deputy Academy beginning October 5, 2022, for children ages 11 to 14. By teaching leadership qualities and the value of teamwork, the program teaches youngsters the importance of their roles as citizens in our community. Attendees will also learn more about the different responsibilities that CPSO deputies play in our community. The curriculum promotes moral character, integrity, and strong leadership.

Moss Bluff Middle School, located at 1104 Don Manuel Boulevard in Moss Bluff, will host registration and meet and greet on Wednesday, October 5 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. A parent or guardian must accompany the child.

This six-week program held on Saturdays will give boys and girls ages 11-14, a hands-on look into the world of law enforcement and the equipment law enforcement uses.

• October 8th, 9 am-11 am – Dispatch 
• October 22nd, 9 am-11 am – Detectives
• October 15th, 9 am-11 am – Patrol/K9
• October 29th 9 am-11am – FIU
• November 5th, 9 am-11 am – ACT-Team/Marine Graduation
