Louisiana Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash After Running Off the Roadway and Colliding with a Tree on LA1
Louisiana – On September 4, 2022, Louisiana State Police stated that soon after 3:00 a.m., LSP Troop C was notified of a single-vehicle fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 1 near St. Joseph Street. Bailey Barrios, 20, of Raceland, Louisiana, died in the crash.
The preliminary investigation found that Barrios was driving a 2013 Ford F-150 towing a trailer south on LA Highway 1. While in a right turn, Barrios crossed the center line and went off the road to the left before colliding with a tree for unknown reasons.
Despite being securely restrained, Barrios sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.
A toxicological sample was collected from Barrios and sent for testing.
While the cause of this incident is still being investigated, motorists should always make sound decisions when driving. Never drive while intoxicated, tired, or distracted.
So far in 2022, Troop C has investigated 33 fatal crashes that resulted in 37 deaths.
