Four Louisiana Men Arrested for Simple Robbery After Allegedly Stealing Money from Someone they Were Involved in a Car Crash with

Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on August 26, 2022, that on August 13 at around 2:30 p.m., deputies from the CPSO were dispatched to a home on Perry Lane in Lake Charles, Louisiana, in reference to a robbery.

During the initial investigation, deputies discovered that after a traffic collision involving a hit-and-run on Ryan Street in Lake Charles, the occupants of a car involved in the crash followed another individual involved in the wreck who was fleeing the scene to his apartment. When they arrived at the house, four unknown individuals exited the car and demanded money from the person who had fled the scene. The suspects encircled the man, pulled him into the street, and started assaulting him while demanding payment. When the perpetrators noticed they were being watched, witnesses told cops, they let the victim stand up and walk to his front door while they followed him.

The victim told authorities that he requested another person inside the house to pay the suspects so they would leave. One of the suspects snatched the victim’s phone while attempting to transmit money using a mobile payment app. It was eventually determined that the suspect transferred money from the victim’s account to his own.

After further investigation detectives were able to identify the suspects as, Allen D. Johnson, Jr., 21, Lake Charles, Louisiana, Donald G Wilson, Jr., 21, Lake Charles, Louisiana, Jaden Johnson, 20, Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Adrian L. Brown, 21, Houston, Texas. When attempting to locate the suspects, detectives located the suspect’s car, with damages consistent with the traffic crash.

On August 25 they were all arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with 2 counts of simple robbery. When detectives apprehended Allen and Donald, they discovered that they were in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. They were additionally charged with possession of CDS I with intent to distribute; and possession of drug paraphernalia; Judge Tony Fazzio set their bond at $85,000. Judge Tony Fazzio set Jaden and Adrian’s bond at $80,000.

Detective Lukas Josker of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is the case’s principal investigator. The Lake Charles City Police Department is investigating the crash.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
