Louisiana Man Arrested for Vehicular Homicide and Other Charges for Hit-and-Run Crash After One Victim Succumbs to His Injuries

Louisiana – Louisiana State Police reported on August 11, 2022, that on August 5, 2022, soon after 11:30 p.m., Troopers from LSP Troop A began investigating a hit-and-run crash on LA 1019 east of LA 16 in Livingston Parish. Kyle Rowland, 26, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, died as a result of the crash.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 2014 Ford F-150 was going west on LA 1019 in Livingston Parish. Rowland was driving a 2009 Honda Shadow Motorcycle east on LA 1019 at the same moment. The Ford F-150 crossed the center line and collided with the motorcyclist for unknown reasons. Rowland and his passenger were ejected as a result of the collision. Rowland and his companion were seriously injured and were sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Ford F-150 fled the scene continuing west on LA 1019. Within a few hours, Troopers determined that Kyle Manno, 23, of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana was driving the Ford F-150 at the time of the incident. Troopers also discovered a Ford F-150 hidden in dense forest on LA 1019.

Manno was then arrested and put into the Livingston Parish Jail on the charges of Hit and Run, Obstruction of Justice, two counts of Negligent Injuring, and Improper Lane Usage.

Kyle Rowland later succumbed to his injuries in the crash and died at a local hospital on August 9, 2022, according to Troopers. With the new information, Troopers acquired an arrest warrant for Kyle Manno from the 21st Judicial District court, charging him with Vehicular Homicide, Vehicular Negligent Injury, Unsafe Vehicle, and Open Container.

Kyle Manno was booked into the Livingston Parish Jail on August 11, 2022, for the outstanding warrant. This crash is still being investigated.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
