Louisiana Man Arrested on Drug and Firearms Charges After Allegedly Selling Drugs to an Undercover Officer
Jennings, Louisiana – On Friday, August 5, 2022, Detectives executed a search warrant at an address in the 400 Block of South McFarland Street in Jennings, Louisiana, according to the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office.
According to authorities, detectives used an undercover officer to purchase crack cocaine from the address three times earlier. Detectives performed a search of the residence and discovered a Herstal 5.7 caliber handgun.
Detectives allegedly searched the home further and found a white rock-like material suspected of being crack cocaine, 6.1 grams of a green leafy substance suspected of being marijuana, and $9,734.00 in US currency.
Drekeylone V. Peters, 29, was booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail on charges of Possession of CDS II with intent, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Firearm with CDS, Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, and three counts of Distribution of CDS II.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
