Louisiana – According to Louisiana State Police, at approximately 3:00 a.m. on August 8, 2022, LSP Troop E responded to a fatal crash on Louisiana Highway 174 at Louisiana Highway 483. Jack B. Dobbs, 19, of Converse, Louisiana, was killed in this crash.
The initial inquiry found that Dobbs was driving a 2022 Buick Encore west on Louisiana Highway 174. Dobbs’ vehicle went off the left side of the road, down the ditch embankment, and overturned numerous times for reasons that are still being investigated. Dobbs was ejected from the automobile as a result of this action.
Unrestrained Dobbs suffered grave injuries and was pronounced dead. A toxicological sample was collected and submitted for testing. This crash is still being investigated.
While not all accidents are avoidable, correct use of seat belts can significantly lower an occupant’s risk of death and injury. Making certain that all occupants are properly restrained can often mean the difference between life and death.
Troop E has investigated 26 fatal crashes so far in 2022, resulting in 28 deaths.
