Louisiana Woman Arrested for Negligent Homicide in Connection with an ATV Crash that Claimed the Lives of Two People

Westlake, Louisiana – On July 18, 2022, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Westlake, Louisiana woman in connection with a December 2021 crash that claimed the lives of two people.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the 3100 block of Davis Road in Westlake on December 23, 2021, at approximately 10:30 p.m. in reference to a crash involving a motorcycle and a four-wheeler. According to the investigation, the motorcycle and the four-wheeler were both traveling north on Davis Road when the motorcycle collided with the four-wheeler from behind. The motorcycle driver, as well as the driver and two passengers on the four-wheeler, were all ejected. Trey Augustine, 29, of Westlake, was the motorcycle’s driver, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. A minor passenger on the four-wheeler was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Heidi A. Corley, 30, of Westlake, Louisiana, was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on July 17, 2022, after further investigation. She was charged with two counts of negligent homicide; and off-road vehicle authorization for use on the shoulders of certain public roads. Later that evening, she was released on a $155,000 bond set by Judge Tony Fazzio.

Sgt. Terry Faulk of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is the lead investigator on this crash.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
