Summer Quarterly Job Fair to be Hosted by American Job Center & Louisiana Workforce Commission on July 27

Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury announced on July 5, 2022, that the American Job Center invites job seekers and employers to attend the Quarterly Job Fair, which will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, July 27, in the Lake Charles Civic Center’s Exhibition Hall, 900 Lakeshore Drive.

Veterans will be given priority services and should arrive at 9 a.m. to have exclusive access to employers until 9:30 a.m.

The job fair provides an excellent opportunity for employers to meet job seekers face to face and possibly conduct on-site interviews. Job seekers are strongly advised to dress professionally, bring a photo ID, and several copies of their current resume. Arrive early to ensure that you have the opportunity to meet with employers. There is no need for job seekers to pre-register.

Employers are also needed by the American Job Center to participate in the job fair. Businesses can contact the American Job Center at 337-721-4010, ext. 5015, to register. The registration deadline for employers is Monday, July 18. Employers can participate at no cost.

Furthermore, the Louisiana Workforce Commission Mobile Workforce Center will be on-site during the job fair to assist job seekers with online application submissions, resume writing/printing, skill assessments, and other services. The American Job Center serves the parishes of Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu Cameron, Jefferson Davis, and Vernon.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury, in collaboration with the Workforce Development Board and the Louisiana Workforce Commission, is hosting the job fair. The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funds it.
