LADOTD Statewide Road Projects Bid Results Released for October 2018
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced today that 13 projects around the state were let on October 10, 2018. Thirteen contractors presented bids totaling $32 million.
“We’re pleased to be able to advance 13 new projects around the state,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “These projects include much-needed bridge repairs, including the rehabilitation of the 85-year-old Long-Allen Bridge connecting Shreveport and Bossier City. While a lack of funding makes it difficult for us to build new infrastructure, the responsible thing to do is repair and improve our existing infrastructure as best we can.”

- Grading, paving, and patching of Hazel St. in Calcasieu Parish: $530,197.20

Bridge Replacement and Repair:
- Rehabilitation of Red River Bridge along U.S. 80 (Texas St.) in Bossier Parish: $15,595,858.35
- Electrical and mechanical repairs to bridges along Vermilion River at LA 14, LA 14-X, LA 182, LA 3073, LA 733, LA 92 in Lafayette and Vermilion parishes: $1,855,000.00
- Electrical and mechanical repairs to bridges along Bayou Teche at LA 3182, LA 3195, LA 320, LA 344, LA 671, LA 86, LA 92-1, and LA 96 in Iberia and St. Martin parishes: $3,546,600.00
- Fire damage repair to I-10 bridge in Orleans Parish: $469,384.00
Pavement/ Overlay:
- Milling, paving, patching, and overlay on 4th St. in Ouachita Parish: $286,185.60
- Grading, paving, and patching of Hazel St. in Calcasieu Parish: $530,197.20
- Patching, paving, overlay, and drainage along LA 144 between Jackson Parish line and LA 151 in Ouachita Parish: $942,670.70
Congestion Mitigation and Safety:
- Intersection improvements at LA 1208-03 (Jackson St.) and LA 488 (Horseshoe Dr.) in Rapides Parish: $1,836,940.35
- Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) deployment along U.S. 190 in Pointe Coupee, St. Landry, and West Baton Rouge parishes: $2,989,090.87
- Exit ramp extension on I-20 westbound in Minden in Webster Parish: $502,662.30
- Pavement marker replacement along I-10 in East Baton Rouge Parish: $139,015.50
Other:
- Shared-use path on east bank of Mississippi River in St. John the Baptist Parish: $2,315,583.17
- Installation of drainage structures along LA 611-1 between Highway Dr. and Arnoult Rd. in Jefferson Parish: $367,784.24
Construction projects are prioritized by road/bridge condition, the urgency of improvements, type/volume of traffic, crash records, unforeseeable emergencies that caused damage, and several other factors.
