2 Arrested in Deputy-Involved Shooting Being Investigated by Louisiana State Police in Terrebonne Parish
Louisiana – Louisiana State Police reported on June 14, 2022, that on June 13, 2022, Troopers with the LSP Bureau of Investigations arrested two subjects following an investigation into a deputy-involved shooting in Terrebonne Parish on June 3, 2022. Following his release from the hospital, Troopers booked Joshua Babin into the Terrebonne Parish Correctional Complex on the charge of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
The investigation also revealed that the firearm Babin was in possession of was obtained fraudulently. Babin could not buy a handgun on his own because he was under 21 years old, according to federal regulations. Chaz Boudreaux Jr., 21, of Houma, had bought the firearm for Babin. Boudreaux did not disclose Babin would be the recipient of the firearm during the purchasing process. Boudreaux was arrested and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Correctional Complex on the charge of Fraudulent Firearm and/or Ammunition Purchase, according to investigators.
