2 Sulphur Juveniles Charged with Multiple Vehicle Burglaries in Maplewood Area, Stolen Items Returned

The Sulphur Police Department reported on April 5, 2022, that recent Facebook posts show video of two subjects burglarizing vehicles in the Maplewood area in the early morning hours of April 3, 2022. The two subjects, who were later identified as juveniles, stole items from a number of vehicles. When the juveniles’ parents discovered what had happened, they began returning the stolen property. The juveniles knocked on the door of the Sulphur Police Detective assigned to investigate the burglaries while returning the property. The juveniles were returning an item stolen from a Detective’s family member while at the Detective’s home.

According to reports, all stolen property has been recovered. Please contact Sulphur Police Detective Cain at 337-527-4598 if you were a victim of these burglaries.

Sulphur Police noted that all items were stolen from unlocked vehicles.

The two juveniles have been charged with 5 counts of Burglary, 2 counts of Theft of a Firearm, and 2 counts of Misdemeanor Theft.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
