Precautionary Boil Advisory Issued for Parts of Sulphur

Sulphur, LA – On October 28, 2021, the City of Sulphur announced that due to a power outage at the Verdine Water Plant, they are issuing a Precautionary Boil Advisory for the following area:

• Beglis Parkway to North Claiborne Street
• Interstate-10 to West Jim Pickins Road

The city indicates that if you were without water in these areas, run faucets until water runs clear then take precautions and boil water before consumption.

Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one-minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled).

The City of Sulphur indicated that they will notify the affected areas once clear samples have been received from the State Laboratory.
