Lane Closures for US 90 Resurfacing Project in Lake Charles to Begin May 3

Published April 30, 2021

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a project to resurface over two miles of US 90 in Lake Charles.

The $1.3 million project will patch, mill, and overlay the shoulders and roadway on US 90 (Fruge Street) from LA 14 (Martin Luther King Highway) to LA 397 (E. Ward Line Road). The patching will repair damaged areas of the roadway, and the mill and overlay will create a new asphalt surface. This preservation project will provide a more reliable, higher-quality roadway for motorists and extend the lifespan of the roadway.

Drivers can expect alternating lane closures beginning Monday, May 3, 2021, and continuing until the end of the project in fall 2021. Traffic will be maintained with a flagging operation.

The contractor for the project will be Prairie Contractor Inc. All dates and activities are weather dependent.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
