 Completion of Hurricane Debris Removal in Calcasieu Parish Announced by LADOTD

From LADOTD – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that hurricane debris removal along state right-of-ways in Calcasieu Parish was completed on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.

Initial debris removal began on August 31, 2020, for Calcasieu Parish, after impacts from Hurricane Laura, with debris removal continuing following impacts from Hurricane Delta. A total of 1.4 million cubic yards of hurricane debris was removed in the parish.

With the completion of Calcasieu Parish, all hurricane debris removal is complete on state roadways following the 2020 hurricane season. Statewide, contractors removed a total of 3.3 million cubic yards of hurricane debris. A total of 2.2 million cubic yards of debris was removed in Southwest Louisiana, which includes Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, and Jefferson Davis Parishes. DOTD previously announced the completion of debris removal in Allen, Beauregard, Cameron, and Jefferson Davis Parishes.

Since hurricane debris removal is complete, DOTD would like to remind residents all other solid waste should be handled through normal means of disposal.
