Search & Rescue Efforts for the Seacor Power will be Suspended at Sunset

After several days of efforts to locate the remaining crew members on the capsized vessel Seacor Power, search and rescue efforts will be suspended at sunset, Monday, April 19, 2021.

U.S. Coast Guard: “The Coast Guard is suspending its search this evening for the remaining Seacor Power crewmembers. Seacor Marine is continuing dive and response operations.”

As of April 19, 2021, at 3:00 pm, divers had made their way through about half of the vessel and are expected to complete the search inside the vessel soon. So far there have been 6 crew members rescued, 5 found deceased, and 7 are still missing.

Efforts to recover the vessel will continue during daylight hours.

The NTSB indicated that their investigation will start within the next few days to weeks and can last up to two years.

The NTSB has asked anyone who was in the area of the vessel to contact them at the email address [email protected] if they believe they have information that can assist in the investigation.

The U.S. Coast Guard along with good samaritans responded after the Seacor Marine lift boat, Seacor Power capsized approximately 8 miles south of Grand Isle, Louisiana around 4:30 p.m. on April 13, 2021.
