Beauregard Electric Responds to Rumors Abound Scheduled Outages During Winter Storm
Published February 16, 2021
Beauregard Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BECi) has responded after rumors on social media began spreading about scheduled outages.
From Beauregard Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BECi):
“To clear up a rumor that is going around
We are NOT planning any scheduled outage or load shedding tonight. We have not been notified by our power supplier that there will be any scheduled outage or load shedding tonight. It is our goal as your utility distribution company to do all we can to provide uninterrupted power to all of our members.
To clarify again, BECi does not have any plans to intentionally schedule power outages or load shed, and as of this update, neither does our power supplier.
With temperatures dropping tonight and with freezing rain in the forecast, there is a likelihood of weather related outages (just as there would be with a thunderstorm or other inclement weather). We are asking our members to remain weather aware and prepared for all weather related outages.
Again, we do NOT have any scheduled outages planned. Please help us share this correct information with your friends and family. And as always, if you have any questions, please call our office at 1-800-367-0275.”
