Baton Rouge, Louisiana – A collaborative effort between the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit (LSP SVU) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has led to the arrest of a 75-year-old man from Mississippi. Bruce Wells was taken into custody on September 28, 2024, for allegedly attempting to engage in sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old juvenile.
According to investigators, Wells had been communicating with the minor and requested to meet in person for the purpose of engaging in sex. Wells traveled from his residence in Tylertown, Mississippi, to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with the intent of carrying out his plans. However, upon his arrival, he was apprehended by law enforcement officials.
Wells has been charged with Attempted Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile and is currently being held at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. The case remains active, and further investigation is ongoing.
