70-Year-Old Louisiana Man Arrested in Connection with Allegedly Shooting Firearms and Harassing Juveniles

Jeff Davis Parish, Louisiana – A 70-year-old Louisiana man has been arrested in connection with allegedly shooting firearms and harassing juveniles.

The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on February 8, 2023, that Deputies were dispatched to an address on T. V. Tower Road in Kinder, Louisiana on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, in reference to two males shooting in the area and harassing juveniles.

The complainant told deputies that her children were playing outside, and the males were shooting across the street and making inappropriate comments to her son and daughter.

Deputies arrived at the home and spoke with two males. Both males initially denied shooting, but when deputies questioned them further and informed them that deputies had video of the shooting and evidence showing shots fired near a pipeline, one suspect admitted to shooting firearms.

Deputies determined that the shooter, John Webster Roberts, 70, of TV Tower Road, Kinder, Louisiana, was a convicted felon in possession of firearms. Roberts was arrested for illegal discharge of a firearm, and three counts of 14:95.1 Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
