60-Year-Old Louisiana Man Arrested Charged with 8 Counts of Aggravated Animal Cruelty

Jennings, Louisiana – A 60-year-old Louisiana man has been arrested and charged with 8 counts of Aggravated Animal Cruelty after an animal abuse complaint was reported at a location in the 3300 Block of North Frontage Road in Jennings, Louisiana, and a search warrant was executed.

The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on January 11, 2023, that on December 29, 2022, deputies received a complaint of animal abuse at a location in the 3300 Block of North Frontage Road.

A search warrant was later executed at this address, yielding an adult female dog and seven puppies. The canines were taken to the Lake Charles Pet Emergency Clinic and were discovered to be in poor health. One of the puppies died later.

Ivory Simon, 60, of North Frontage Road, Jennings, Louisiana was arrested on January 2, 2022, for 8 charges of Aggravated Animal Cruelty.

On January 11, 2023, Simon surrendered to JDPSO and was freed on a $2500 bond issued by 31st Judicial District Judge Gunnell.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty.
