52-Year-Old Louisiana Man Indicted for Bank Robbery Totaling $920, Faces Up to 20 Years if Convicted

New Orleans, Louisiana – A 52-year-old Louisiana man has been indicted for bank robbery totaling $920. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that Clement Leach, age 52, of New Orleans, Louisiana, was indicted on one count of Bank Robbery in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2113(a), 

According to the indictment, Leach robbed Chase Bank on Monday, March 2, 2020, and stole roughly $920. If convicted, Leach faces up to twenty years in the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a $250,000 fine, up to three years of supervised release after his release, and a $100 special assessment fee.

United States Attorney Evans reiterated that the indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

U.S. Attorney Evans applauded the work of the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force and officers from the New Orleans Police Department. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jon M. Maestri of the General Crimes Unit.
