$5,000 Reward Offered by Louisiana Authorities for Information in October 9 Shooting Death Case
On October 12, 2022, the St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office announced a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the shooting death of Yasmine Halum, 19, of LaPlace, Louisiana.
Deputies responded to a complaint about gunshots heard in the 1400 block of Van Arpel Drive in LaPlace, Louisiana at 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2022. Officers arrived to find a female victim, Halum, unresponsive on the driveway of a property. She had been shot in the chest. Haitham was taken to a nearby hospital and later confirmed dead. At the moment, no motive is known.
