50-Year-Old Louisiana Man Arrested on Drug Charges After Police Reportedly Found Cocaine, Fentanyl-Laced MDMA, Other Drugs, and a Loaded Firearm

St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana – A 50-year-old Louisiana man has been arrested on drug charges following a police investigation that reportedly found cocaine, fentanyl-laced MDMA, and other drugs, as well as a loaded firearm.

Sheriff James Pohlmann of the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on February 9, 2023, that a man was detained on narcotics charges following an investigation conducted by the Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit.

Narcotics Unit investigators initiated an investigation after receiving evidence that Williams was involved in illegal drug activity in St. Bernard.
Based on their findings, agents secured a warrant for the residence of Williams.

Agents reportedly recovered 13 grams of cocaine, 49 dosages of MDMA Ecstasy containing fentanyl, 40 Tramadol tablets, 2 Hydrocodone pills, and marijuana during the course of their investigation.
Also discovered by agents was a fully loaded Smith & Wesson.
Sheriff stated that he had a .38 caliber revolver.

A search of Williams’s criminal history revealed that he had a lengthy criminal record that includes convictions for drug-related offenses as well as arrests for domestic violence, simple escape, resisting an officer, obstruction, and gun charges.

Ronald Williams, 50, of the 2000 block of Goodwill Drive in Poydras, Louisiana was booked on February 8 for possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with the intent to distribute MDMA Ecstasy, possession with the intent to distribute Tramadol, possession with the intent to distribute Hydrocodone, illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and illegal possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance. Additionally, he was booked on a warrant from Jefferson Parish for a traffic attachment.

Williams was transported to the St. Bernard Parish Prison to be booked on the counts listed above.

Sheriff Pohlmann advises residents to call the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics hotline at (504) 271-DOPE (3673) if they suspect illegal drug activities.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
